Just signed up, got invited by DJPC after seeing a post in the Bitchfest forum on Ogs.

For those who don't know me, I was one of the first batch of v3 mods, with less than 50 releases contributed at the time (which was seen as a problem by some people), and I have very little hope for Ogs v4.
I posted in the Bitchfest before reading about the forum, and have just edited all the juicy bits out of that post.

I'm sure that is being discussed elsewhere on this forum, but the less secretive we are, the less need there is to worry about moles.
Nik and Teo are going to have enough on their plates with the v4 changes to worry about a number of formerly happy Oggers taking their efforts elsewhere.

It seems that posting the link to this forum on Discogs forums (sorry, "groups") attracts many users. If there are people who want to give this project a little push forward, this is a nice way to do it

Does anyone know dockerz1? Looking at this post, it seems he has the capacities and knowledge to build a site and seems to be willing to use his free time to do it. Should we invite him? The one problem I can see is that he doesn't look like an experimented contributor.

I'm not very keen on his idea to make it gemm/musicstack/old discogs. But we could ask him to join, maybe he can be valuable for the project.

I say engage him and see what he has to offer. I think the key to getting this thing off the ground is tiny baby steps.

It will be a paralyzing exercise to try and visualize and agree on a completed concept. To a degree toes will have to be stepped on just to push this thing into being.

Perhaps we need some female oggers as to cheer us on ?????

Thanks to marcelrecords for inviting me. Haven't seen this site "advertised" at Discogs, so it isn't that obvious yet - still nothing wrong with the doings here. I should present myself (as a non-mole) :

Joined Discogs november 2007, started submitting at new-year. Up till V4-day I have submitted 185 releases, numerous images and profiles (artists and labels) and giving constructive comments to fellow users. The turn of things is very depressing, - and quite a set-back for ones enthusiasm, - think I need a period of recouvering before I commit myself actively here. But I'll be around from time to time, to see how things shape up. I sincerely hope they do.

I want to believe in Discogs v4..... but somehow I can't. Nothing works, NOTHING!

not to totally ruin the thread direction, but I submittet a crim tribute album you might want to know about. since it was submitted after v4, its impossible to find on discogs without me giving the direct link...

all-in-all an ok tribute album. these are not "clone" covers, but more personalized stuff.
Some of the tracks are very good, like the talking drum, one more red nightmare, formentara lady.
and no tracks straightly suck, either. I ordered this directly from the label in italy.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely check it out on your recommendation. 1MRN and Talking Drum are two of my favorites, so I'll be interested in hearing how these artists have interpreted them.
